Custom Design Process

Bespoke Jewelry at Hannon Jewelers
Crafted by Hand. Inspired by You.

Step One: Consultation

Our custom design process begins with a detailed consultation to gain a clear understanding of your vision, preferences, and goals. In the initial meeting, we will discuss the purpose of the piece, desired aesthetic, and any specific elements you wish to include- such as heirloom gemstones, existing diamonds, or particular design inspirations. Whether you are seeking a completed custom piece, redesign an heirloom, or a semi-custom setting tailored to your own gemstones, this step ensures we align on both creative direction and budget. Our goal is to create a meaningful piece of jewelry that reflects your story while meeting the highest standards of craftsmanship.

Step Two: Sourcing

Once the design is established, we begin the process of sourcing the perfect diamond or gemstones to suit your piece. Drawing from our trusted industry partners and reputable suppliers, we present carefully curated options that align with your standards. Whether you are seeking a mined diamond, lab grown diamond, or colored gemstone, each stone is selected with attention to beauty and ethical sourcing. If you are providing your own stones, we will thoroughly assess them for suitability within the design. This stage ensures that every element of your piece begins with exceptional materials tailored specifically to your vision.

Step Three: Design

With gemstones and concept finalized, we begin bringing your vision to life though detailed computer-aided design (CAD). This allows us to create precise, 3D-rendered models of your piece, offering a clear and realistic visualization. The CAD model serves as a tool to give you the opportunity to review the design closely and request any refinements before moving into production.

Step Four: Prototype

For those who wish to experience their design in a more tangible way before final production, we offer an optional 3D-printed prototype of the setting. This model allows you to see and feel the scale, form, and overall presence of the piece, as well as evaluate how it may sit alongside other jewelry. While the prototype is not made in precious materials, it offers valuable insight into proportion and comfort, providing an added level of confidence before we proceed with casting and setting.

Step Five: Production & Evaluation

Once all aspects have been approved, we move into the final stage of crafting your custom piece. The setting is cast in your chosen metal of Gold, Platinum, or Silver. Once cast, our skilled jeweler will begin carefully setting each gemstone and final polish to bring out the full beauty and brilliance of the piece. Upon completion, the piece is evaluated by our AGS certified master gemologist and certified appraiser, providing official documentation for your records and insurance purposes.
