Appraisals

Jewelry Appraisals at Hannon Jewelers
Precise. Professional. Reliable.

A professional appraisal is essential for protecting your jewelry—whether for insurance coverage, estate planning, or simply understanding what you own. At Hannon Jewelers, all appraisals are conducted in-house by our American Gem Society Certified Gemologist Appraiser, ensuring each piece is evaluated with expert care and accuracy.

What to Expect

Our appraisal process includes a thorough gemological evaluation, detailed documentation, and high-resolution photographs of each item. Every piece is cleaned, inspected, and tested using industry-standard equipment before we prepare the final report. Your completed appraisal includes:

  • A full description of materials, design, and gemstone specifications
  • Estimated replacement value based on current market conditions
  • Clear, professional photographs for reference or insurance use

Appraisal Services

We offer appraisal services for the following purposes:

Insurance Appraisals – To establish replacement value in case of loss, theft, or damage

Estate Appraisals – For inheritance, estate planning, or equitable distribution

Appraisal Updates – Recommended every 2–3 years to ensure accurate coverage

If we performed your original appraisal, we offer reduced pricing on updates using the documentation and images we already have on file.

Service Options

We provide two levels of service to fit your needs:

  • Standard Appraisal – A full evaluation including secure intake, cleaning, testing, research, photography, and final documentation. Items are stored safely while in our care and matched to original records at pickup.
  • Express Appraisal – For clients needing a quicker turnaround, we offer express appraisals by appointment. Items must still be dropped off, but the evaluation and documentation will be completed within one to three business days. Higher fees apply.

If you're unsure whether an item is worth appraising, we also offer consultation appointments with our appraiser. During this session, you can receive preliminary information to help decide if a formal appraisal is necessary. A consultation fee applies and can be credited toward a full appraisal if you choose to proceed.

Fees & Scheduling

Appraisal fees are based on time and scope, including intake, cleaning, evaluation, research, and reporting. Bringing multiple items at once may help reduce your overall cost.

To schedule an appraisal or consultation, please contact us directly. We're happy to guide you through the process.
